A South Carolina First Agenda Built on Results

A South Carolina First Agenda Built on Results

South Carolinians are not asking for more talk. They are asking for action.

They are asking for a government that works. A state that puts families first. A legislature that understands the cost of living, the pressure on parents, the frustration with broken roads, rising crime, and a system that too often feels disconnected from everyday life.

That is why the South Carolina House Republican Caucus has released a clear and focused agenda for 2026. Not a list of slogans. Not a campaign document. A governing agenda rooted in freedom, families, affordability, and fixing what has been ignored for too long.

This agenda starts from a simple belief: government exists to serve the people, not the other way around.

Fighting for Freedom

Freedom is not an abstract idea. It means defending the Constitution. Holding government accountable. Enforcing the law fairly and firmly.

The House Republican agenda makes clear that law and order matter. That public safety is non negotiable. That criminal behavior has consequences. That parents have rights. That religious liberty must be protected. And that government power must always have limits.

South Carolina will not become a place where bureaucrats rule from behind closed doors or where ideology replaces common sense. We will continue pushing back against overreach, restoring accountability, and ensuring government answers to the people it serves.

Standing Up for Families

Strong families build strong communities. And strong communities build a strong state.

This agenda prioritizes protecting children, empowering parents, and defending basic values. It expands school choice so parents can decide where their children learn. It strengthens parental rights with no exceptions and no apologies. It protects children online and cracks down on those who harm them.

It also draws clear lines. Protecting life. Stopping dangerous mail order abortion pills. Keeping intoxicating hemp products away from kids. Preserving privacy and safety in schools. These are not culture war distractions. They are fundamental responsibilities.

Families should not have to fight their own government to protect their children. South Carolina will stand with parents.

Making South Carolina More Affordable

Too many families are being squeezed. Groceries cost more. Insurance costs more. Housing costs more. Gas costs more. And government should not be making that worse.

House Republicans have already advanced the next phase of South Carolina’s income tax cuts, moving our state closer to zero income tax and letting families keep more of what they earn. That work continues.

The agenda also focuses on cutting red tape, eliminating inefficiency, reforming insurance markets, and fixing broken systems that drive up costs without delivering results. Small businesses should be able to grow without being buried under regulation. Working people should not be punished for success.

Affordability is not a talking point. It is the difference between getting ahead and falling behind.

Fixing Roads and Infrastructure

South Carolinians are tired of sitting in traffic and dodging potholes while projects drag on for years.

This agenda demands transparency and accountability from the Department of Transportation. It cuts red tape. Speeds up projects. Reduces congestion. And focuses on safer, shorter commutes.

Growth is coming whether we like it or not. The choice is whether we manage it intelligently or let it overwhelm our communities. Roads should be built to serve people, not politics.

Holding Government Accountable

This agenda is also about reforming how government operates.

Judicial reform. Welfare reform that helps people get back to work. Higher education reforms that reward merit, not automatic guarantees. Immigration enforcement with zero tolerance for sanctuary policies. Stronger partnerships with federal authorities to keep communities safe.

These are not isolated issues. They are part of a larger effort to restore trust by making government function the way it is supposed to.

Results Matter

In 2025, the House Republican Caucus delivered real wins. Income tax cuts. School choice expansion. Major DEI reforms. Energy security. Tougher public safety laws. Protections for children.

That record matters. It proves that this agenda is not aspirational. It is achievable.

The 2026 agenda builds on that foundation with a clear mission: fighting for freedom, families, and a more affordable South Carolina.

This is not about politics for its own sake. It is about doing the job South Carolinians sent us to do. Fix what is broken. Protect what matters. And leave this state better than we found it.

That is the work ahead. And that is the commitment.
